Notes: Belfort is in north eastern France, not far from the border with Switzerland.  The Savoureuse River runs through the city, as you can see in several of the pictures.  The Lion of Belfort, on the upper right, is a famous sculpture by Frédéric Bartholdi, who also created The Statue of Liberty. The lion is made of red sandstone, and it stands near the Belfort Citadel.

Notes: Lac Kir is a manmade lake in Dijon, in the Burgundy region in France. It was created in 1964 by the mayor of Dijon, Félix Kir.  I think you may be able to guess where the lake got its name.
