Day One Hundred Twelve

Italy - Stalactites, Interior of the Grottos, Pertosa Caves

Sent by: Unknown
Notes: Another day, another cave postcard from a mystery sender.  This time, the card shows the Pertosa Caves near Pertosa, Italy.  Like the Castellana Caves, the Pertosa Caves are a karst cave system.  That means they were formed by water flowing through soluable rock.  There is still a lot of water in the cave due to the proximity of the Tanagro River.
