Day One Hundred Twenty-One

Notes: I actually won this card, along with 5 or 6 others, in a lottery on the Postcrossing forum for people who ran round robins, which I did at the time.  It shows the Plattentheke in Munich in 1962.  These four very stylishly-dressed young people seem to be listening to some records like those on the wall behind them.

Notes: This lovely evening scene (I suppose it could be dawn...I don't know for sure) of Colonge shows the Hohenzollern Bridge (bless you!) in front of the Cologne Cathedral.  The bridge, which was destroyed during WWII and subsequently rebuilt, crosses the Rhine River.  Instead of automobiles, the bridge carries rail traffic.
Construction of the cathedral began in 1248, but was halted in 1473.  Construction resumed in the 1800's and was completed in 1880, making the cathedral the tallest building in the least until 1884.
