Day Two Hundred Eighty-One

Arkansas - Clinton Presidential Center

Notes: dan1066 sent a page of information for the cards he sent to me.  His first comment about this card was "Yes, it looks like a stainless steel trailer overhanging a river."  I have to admit that he's right.  The building to the right of the trailer...I mean Presidential Center...used to be the Choctaw Railway Station, and is now the Clinton School of Public Service.  Apparently the mission of the school is "to educate and prepare individuals for public service, incorporating a strategic vision, an authentic voice, and a commitment to the common good."  Excuse me while I finish rolling my eyes.

Notes: This is the Old Sacramento Historic Area, which has been restored to supposedly look as it did during the California Gold Rush.  Sacramento became an important hub during the Gold Rush, and it was a terminus for wagon trains, stagecoaches, riverboats, the Pony Express and the First Transcontinental Railroad.  The California State Legislature moved to Sacramento in 1854, officially making it the state capital.
