Day Two Hundred Ninety-Five

California - San Francisco Then and Now

For: US to US Travelling Envelope Round Robin - Flight 1
Notes: I'm not sure when the top photo was taken, but San Francisco's cable car system first began operating in 1878, so obviously it was some time after that.  The top photo doesn't say exactly where it is either, but the bottom photo says that it is on Hyde Street Hill.  And out in the Bay in the background, I believe I spy Alcatraz.

California - Columbia State Historic Park

For: US to US Travelling Envelope Round Robin - Flight 1
Notes: Columbia State Historic Park has almost 30 preserved buildings from California's Gold Rush.  The area was declared a state park in 1946, and it currently operates as an open-air museum. It is also home to many living history programs throughout the year, and has been used as a shooting location for a number of films and TV shows.
