Georgia - Atlanta multiview

Notes: It's probably no big surprise that this card shows various scenes around the city of Atlanta, Georgia. I mean, the card does say "Atlanta" in big letters at the top.  Along with the scenes of downtown, there are three stadiums - Turner Field (formerly Centennial Olympic Stadium), Atlanta-Fulton Country Stadium (which was demolished in 1997), and the Georgia Dome.  The statue in the lower right corner is of Hank Aaron, who played for the Milwaukee/Atlanta Braves from 1954-1974.  Obviously, the fruits are peaches, and I believe the flowers at the bottom are Cherokee roses, the state flower of Georgia.

Georgia - Centennial Park, Atlanta

Notes: This is Centennial Park in downtown Atlanta.  It's a 21 acre park that was built as a gathering place for the 1996 Olympic Games.  Unfortunately, it is probably best known as the site of the July 27, 1996 bombing that killed one person (a second died of a heart attack) and injured 111 people.  The fountain in this photo is the Fountain of Rings, which features computer-controlled water jets and lights set to music.  Every summer, the park hosts a summer concert series, as well as an Independence Day concert and fireworks.
