Day Three Hundred Sixty-One

Russia RU-89770 received 12-02-2009

Notes: This is the Church of All Saints in Yekaterinburg, Russia.  It was constructed between 2000 and 2003, and is also know as the "Cathedral on the Blood".  That sounds rather morbid, and the reason for the name is morbid.  It was built on the site of Ipatiev House, where Tsar Nicholas II, his wife and their five children were assassinated by the Bolsheviks in 1918.  Ipatiev House was actually dedicated as a national monument in 1974, but was demolished in 1977 by order of the Soviet government because it was not of "sufficient historical significance".  Really?  *eyebrow raises*
