Notes: This Capitol Building in Jefferson City is the sixth Capitol in Missouri's history, and the third in Jefferson City.  It was completed in 1917, and features 13 x 18 ft. bronze doors, which at the time they were cast were the largest since the Roman era.  Just to the right of the pine tree, you can see the 13 ft (4 m) tall statue of Thomas Jefferson that stands outside the building. There is also a statue on top of the dome, of the Roman goddess of agriculture, grain crops, and fertility - Ceres.   Just below Ceres, inside the dome, is a whispering gallery, which is not usually open to the public.
