Notes: Klaipėda is a city in north west Lithuania, situated along the Baltic Sea at the mouth of the Danė River.  In its 750+ year history, the city has been controlled by the Teutonic Knights, the Duchy of Prussia, the Kingdom of Prussia, the German Empire, the Entente States, the Third Reich, the Soviet Union, and of course, the country of Lithuania.  It is the third largest city in Lithuania after Vilnius (the capital) and Kaunas, although the population has declined by about 50,000 people since 1992.  I always like to check out the museums that Wikipedia lists in a city because, you know, museums.  Klaipėda has a castle museum (not sure if it's a museum about castle or a castle that became a museum), a maritime museum (makes sense 'cause they're on the coast), a blacksmith museum and a clock museum (which you would hope would always open on time).
