Notes: The Darrell K. Royal Texas Memorial Stadium was built in 1924 for the University of Texas at Austin Longhorns football team.  It's a huge stadium, with a record capacity of 101,851 people. It was originally named War Memorial Stadium to honor those who died fighting in World War I.  It was also called Memorial Stadium and Texas Memorial Stadium before being renamed for former football coach Darrell K. Royal in 1996.  In Royal's 20 years as coach, the Longhorns never had a losing season, and his career record at the school was 167-47-5.

Texas - Texas Stadium, Arlington

Notes: I was only supposed to receive one card from each person in this round robin group, but I ended up getting two from Gardenlizard.  It was a complete 'oops' on her part, but it was quite alright as I didn't have cards from either of these stadiums.  Texas Stadium in Irving, Texas, opened in 1971as the home of the Dallas Cowboys NFL team.  It was supposed to have a retractable roof, but it was discovered that the structure wouldn't be able to support the weight, so the center of the roof was left open.  In 2009, AT&T Stadium opened in Arlington and became the Cowboys new home.  Texas Stadium was imploded on April 11, 2010.  (Here is a view of the implosion from the ground.)
