A Card That is as Old as I Am

Kazakhstan KZ-14633 received 06-16-2014

Notes: The publication date on this card is 1976, which means it has been around as long as I have.  The photo on the right shows the Kazakhstan capital of Astana as it looked in 1976.  Back then, the city was called Tselinograd, and it wasn't the capital of the country.  In 1992, it was renamed Akmola.  Akmola replaced Almaty as the capital on December 10, 1997, and it was renamed Astana on May 6, 1998.  I wonder if the residents have a bit of an identity crisis?
The photo on the left shows an eternal flame, but Gulmira (the sender) says that it doesn't exist anymore.  I guess it wasn't so eternal after all.
