Broken Reflection

Notes: The building you see reflected here is the Mateus Palace in Vila Real, Portugal.  It was built as a private residence between 1739 and 1743.  It was classifed as a National Monument in 1911.  The poor legless sculpture in the pond is interesting.  It is by a sculptor named João Cutileiro, who was apparently known for carving female torsos.  The statue was placed there in 1981, and although it looks broken, it is apparently supposed to be legless.   It's kind of creepy if you ask me.  It's kind of creepy even if you don't ask me.
