Notes: Shirley Temple was one of the most famous movie stars of the 1930s.  She was born in 1928, and started acting at the age of three.  Her big break came in the movie Bright Eyes in 1934, and from 1935 to 1938, she was the number one box office star in Hollywood.  She quit acting in 1950 at age 22, but returned to it eight years later.  She quit acting for good in 1965, and in 1967 she made an unsuccessful run for Congress.  In 1969, Richard Nixon appointed her as a Representative to the 24th United Nations General Assembly,  She was also a U.S. Ambassador to Ghana, a U.S. Ambassador to Czechoslovakia, and a Chief of Protocol of the United States, advising the President, Vice-President and Secretary of State on diplomatic protocols.  She also served on a number of boards of directors, including the Walt Disney Company, Bank of America, Del Monte Foods and UNESCO.  She died on February 10, 2014 at the age of 85.
