Charming Charleston

South Carolina - John Rutledge House Inn, Charleston

Notes: This is the view from the balcony of the John Rutledge House Inn in Charleston, South Carolina.  In the distance, you can see the steeple of St. Michael's Episcopal Church.  John Rutledge was a governor of South Carolina, and a signer of the U.S. Constitution.  He had the house built in 1763, and in 1973 it was added to the National Register of Historic Places.  The Inn opened in 1989, and features 19 guest rooms - 11 in the main house and 8 in the carriage house.
