A Little Piece of China

California - Chinatown, San Fran

For: US to US Traveling Envelope Round Robin - Group 72: Nightviews
Notes: Many cities around the world have a Chinatown area, and one of the most famous (and largest) Chinatowns of all is in San Francisco, California.  And that's exactly what this card shows.  Look, you can even see a cable car about to head up the hill.  Or maybe it just came down the hill; I don't really know.  San Francisco's Chinatown covers an area of 1.34 square miles, and has a population of around 100,000 people.  The median age of the residents is 50, the oldest of any San Francisco neighborhood.  Only 14% of the households in Chinatown are headed by a person who speaks English fluently.  Most people in the area speak only Mandarin or Cantonese.
