New Mexico - Taos Pueblo

For: US to US Traveling Envelope - Group 74: Buildings/Architecture
Notes: Taos Pueblo, New Mexico, was built in the late 13th or early 14th century.  It has been continuously inhabited since then, and is the largest pueblo that still exists.  The homes are multistory dwellings made of adobe.  The ruins of the first church, built by the Spanish in the 1600s, and its 1850 replacement, still exist within the pueblo walls.   Taos Pueblo was listed on the Nation Register of Historic Places in 1966, and as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992.
