Notes: This card shows several of the most famous buildings in Washington, D.C., the capital of the United State.  The shorter building with the columns is the Lincoln Memorial, which was built between 1914 and 1922 to honor Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States.  The tall, obelisk is the Washington Monument, built in 1922-23 to commemorate the country's first President, George Washington. It looks like its is right next to the Lincoln Memorial from this angle, but it is actually at the other end of the Reflecting Pool, which is 2,029 feet (618 m) long.  Finally, the domed Building is the Capitol Building, which houses the U.S. Congress.
