Notes: This is the Hernando de Soto Bridge over the Mississippi River.  It opened in 1973, and connects Memphis, Tennessee to West Memphis, Arkansas.  Hernando de Soto, for whom the bridge was named, was a 16th century Spanish explorer who explored the stretch of the river near what is now Memphis.  The bridge was lit in 1986, after $373,000 in private funds was raised to fund the cost of the installation.
