Where Even The Sun Wears Sunglasses at Night

Florida - Sloppy Joe's Bar, Key West

For: US to US Traveling Envelope Round Robin - Group 72: Nightviews
Notes: The bar now known as Sloppy Joe's first opened on December 5, 1933 - the day that prohibition was officially repealed.  Originally, it was called the Blind Pig, and that was followed by the Silver Slipper.  The bar's most famous patron, Ernest Hemingway, was the one who encouraged the change to Sloppy Joe's.  FYI, the 'sloppy' comes from the fact that the floor was always wet with melted ice.  The bar moved into its current building in 1937, and has since opened two other locations.
